BRS Colors is a searchable color library built from the color palettes used across Nike's historical product releases. It gives designers, collectors, developers, and sneaker enthusiasts a structured way to browse, compare, and reference the names and values associated with Nike colorways. While overly-simplified (many colors have had different values over the years), BRS Colors is the first and most comprehensive Nike color library.
The project also includes a color palette generator, allowing users to generate their own color palette. The generator can be customized to lock favourite colors, as well as by increasing or decreasing the amount of colors included in the result. Although the initial idea included a shareable links for generated results, the not included, although the project was scaffolded in such a way to allow the feature being added in the future.
Alongside the color library and color palette generator, BRS Colors includes a timed skill challenge that tests how quickly users can identify and work with the available colors. Users are awarded points based on how fast they correctly guess each color displayed on the screen. A total of 10 random colors are displayed in the quiz, with 15 seconds to answer each question and match the color to its' potential candidates.
The project is continuously maintained every month, with product references being constantly updated and new colors seasonal being added.
