Concept & Prototype
Delft Dashboard was developed to turn the complex, jargon-heavy 2040 Impact Analysis report into an intuitive and interactive interface usable by all residents and officials of Delft. The tool enables its users to explore city growth scenarios and instantly see how adding jobs or housing affects mobility, livability, and access to resources. Its reactive design turns data into a living narrative.
This project combined deep UX research, urban planning insights, and interactive storytelling to inform better policy decisions. Delft Dashboard was developed as a group (with Jeroen Nijkamp, Martin Havelka and Kasparas Litinskas), and was showcased at an official expo, gaining traction among both officials and the public. Working directly with government stakeholders taught us how to navigate public-sector collaboration, while applying SCRUM methodologies sharpened our team dynamics, iteration cycles, and real-world delivery.
Ultimately, the city has decided to move forward with external development partners to explore expanding the tool into a full virtual 3D model of Delft. This enthusiastic response highlighted the tool's potential not just as a prototype, but as a foundation for long-term digital planning solutions within the municipality - a glimpse into the future of urban planning.
