Sneaker Of The Year (SOTY) is a community voting platform built to capture the conversation around the year's most important sneaker releases. Users can sign in through Twitter and vote for their personal sneaker of the year, as well as their top 10, all while taking part in a shared year-end snapshot of the community's preferences. All votes are public, with users being able to see each other's votes and the leaderboards in real-time.

Beyond the voting area, the application also features an Explore area where users can scroll through a dynamic grid of products, filtering by brand or tags in order to discover releases they might have forgotten about. Each product page can be visited to see the products' overall rankings, and an assortment of recent community votes. Users can freely choose to explore the product catalog or other user votes before creating their own list.

During the project's first year in 2025, the SOTY catalog featured almost individual 6,000 products, with votes being cast by almost 500 different individual Twitter users, generating over 200,000 impressions and hundreds of user-generated social media posts about SOTY. This project was created in collaboration with Brandon1an, one of my good friend from sneaker twitter, with the product data being collected from resell platforms.
