Tom Sachs I.S.R.U. Dashboard was created as a tool meant to help users track their real-time progress for Nike's Tom Sachs Mars Yard 3.0 release, weeks before the NikeCraft team offered the same options in their official app. The Tom Sachs I.S.R.U. Summer Camp challenge required users to complete daily challenges for points, with the highest earners being selected to purchase the limited edition sneakers. The idea was inspired by a Reddit user who was planning on scraping and analyzing the results every day manually.
The project combined a real-time progress view with comparative data, helping users understand how their activity measured up against the wider group. It also allows users to check individual user progress, as well as any special badges or challenges associated with the user's profile. During the first days of the challenge, the API allowed anyone to view submissions marked as private, which was a privacy concern. This data was not displayed within the dashboard, however I did tweet about this which quickly prompted Nike's team to fix the issue. While I did not manage to get selected for a pair, NikeCraft did e-mail to congratulate me on the app.
With the application being developed as a short-term release-specific tool, it has since been discontinued. A snapshot of the project can be seen in the images below, however the interface and API has been disabled.
